Job summary

Google in Malaysia seeks a Data Center Facilities Technician, Mechanical to operate, monitor, and support critical mechanical and HVAC systems in its data centers.

You will inspect, maintain, and repair piping and mechanical components, read blueprints, manage water pumps and HVAC uptime, and assist with commissioning of new equipment.

This role requires 5 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience and the ability to work non-standard hours; safety compliance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and use PPE as required.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair data center systems such as piping and mechanical components.
• Read blueprints/schematics/sequence of operations, conduct system tours, and assess working order.
• Manage uptime and maintenance of water pumps, HVAC, and control/monitoring systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in data center facilities systems and equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment into facilities infrastructure.
