Job summary

OCS in Nusajaya, Johor invites a Mechanical Technician to uphold the continuous availability of critical data center mechanical systems. You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment, chillers, pumps, and air handling units, working closely with operations and facilities teams.

This role requires hands-on problem solving, good communication, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call maintenance.

Qualifications

Knowledge of HVAC systems; advantage if you know chilled water systems, pumps, valves, compressors, cooling towers.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call maintenance.
Electrical competency certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on critical mechanical equipment.
Maintain HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps and piping.
Respond promptly to mechanical failures and emergencies to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and identify root causes of equipment failures.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors during servicing and repairs.
Operate start-up/shut-down procedures per MOPs.
Record maintenance activities in CMMS and keep logs up to date.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and data center standards.
Willing to support other disciplines within competency scope.
Maintain clean and organized mechanical plant rooms and areas.
