Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cooling and mechanical systems in mission-critical data centers. You will lead thermal management, perform CFD analyses, and ensure alignment with ASHRAE and IMC standards while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5–7 years in data center mechanical engineering, experience with CRAC/CRAH, in-row cooling, and BMS platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of mechanical engineering experience in data center or mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, airflow diagrams, and piping layouts.
• Oversee operation of CRAC/CRAH, in-row cooling, rear-door heat exchangers; manage chilled water systems.
• Conduct thermal assessments, CFD analysis, and containment strategies like hot/cold aisle configurations.
• Configure and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring and control.
• Perform preventive maintenance on cooling equipment and coordinate maintenance windows.
• Analyze energy efficiency, implement optimization like VSDs and economizers.
• Lead mechanical engineering aspects of data center projects through commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with IMC, ASHRAE standards, and local codes.
• Oversee water treatment, refrigerant management, and Legionella protocols.
• Manage vendor/contractor relationships and technology evaluations.
