Job summary

DXN Limited is seeking a Senior HVAC Engineer to serve as the technical authority for cooling, ventilation and pressurisation across modular data centre units. You will review customer design packages, drive production floor installation and lead commissioning and FAT.

You will mentor HVAC Technicians, validate heat-load calculations and ensure ASHRAE-compliant documentation while coordinating with BMS interfaces and high-density cooling strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Building Services or HVAC Engineering.
• 5+ years in HVAC design, installation and commissioning, including 2+ years in data centre, mission-critical or cleanroom environments.
• Track record leading commissioning on precision-cooled facilities, producing TAB reports and ASHRAE-compliant thermal documentation.
• Strong on heat load, psychrometrics and duct sizing; TAB to SMACNA standards; ASHRAE A1–A4, MS 1525, UBBL 1984 and DOSH regulations; AutoCAD.
• Current DOE-recognised Refrigerant Handling Certificate, CIDB Green Card, Working at Heights, and overhead crane competency.
• English and Bahasa Malaysia, including technical report writing in both.
• BEM registration (we'll support your GE application), ASHRAE or MBAM membership, CFD experience (6SigmaDC or similar), VFD and EC fan commissioning, PUE and energy performance work, modular or packaged plant background, First Aid, basic Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate customer HVAC design packages - equipment schedules, duct layouts, P&IDs, heat load and psychrometric calculations - and raise RFIs before production starts.
• Direct installation of CRAC/CRAH units, in-row and supplemental cooling, ductwork, dampers, diffusers and controls interfaces within the module shell.
• Lead commissioning: duct pressure testing, TAB, fan and motor verification, VAV/VFD set-up and BMS integration.
• Run thermal mapping and airflow visualisation under simulated IT load and verify ASHRAE A-class compliance.
• Specify high-density cooling strategies - hot/cold-aisle containment, in-row and overhead precision cooling, rear-door heat exchangers.
• Produce as-built drawings, commissioning reports and TAB records for the FAT pack, and mentor HVAC Technicians on the team.
