Job summary

Randstad Malaysia, in partnership with a major real estate-focused organisation, seeks a Data Analyst/BI Analyst to design and maintain dashboards, enabling data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work with Power BI/Tableau, SQL, and cloud data warehouses to build scalable models, ensure data quality, and translate business needs into technical solutions. Hybrid work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in Data Analyst/BI Analyst or similar role.
• Proficient in Power BI or Tableau with strong dashboard portfolio.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with Data Warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards to track KPIs and metrics.
• Query, organize, and analyze large datasets in a Data Warehouse (e.g., Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery).
• Collaborate with data engineers to design ETL workflows and ensure data accuracy.
• Write complex SQL queries to support ad-hoc analysis and automated reporting.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, etc. to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Identify data anomalies and ensure data quality across reporting systems.

key responsibilities:

• Data Visualization & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain interactive and user-friendly dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to track KPIs and business metrics.

• Data Warehousing: Query, organize, and analyze large datasets within our Data Warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery) to extract meaningful business insights.

• ETL & Data Pipeline Management: Collaborate with data engineers to design, build, and troubleshoot ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely updates.

• Advanced SQL Analysis: Write complex, optimized SQL queries to clean, transform, and aggregate data for ad-hoc analysis and automated reporting.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders in [Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, etc.] to gather reporting requirements, define business logic, and translate business needs into technical data solutions.

• Data Quality Assurance: Identify data anomalies, investigate root causes, and implement solutions to maintain a high standard of data integrity across all reporting systems.

• Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.

• Data Visualization: Expert-level proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, with a strong portfolio of dashboards demonstrating best practices in visual analytics.

• Database & SQL: Advanced SQL skills with deep experience querying and manipulating data within relational databases and Data Warehouses.

• ETL Knowledge: Hands-on experience working with ETL/ELT processes and tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or custom scripts). You must understand how data is moved, transformed, and modeled.

• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable business recommendations.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

nice to haves

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.

• Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.

• Understanding of dimensional data modeling (e.g., star schemas).
