We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical candidate to join our Route Revenue team as a Data Analyst. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating complex data into understandable conclusions and recommendations that drive business decisions. What are the main responsibilities?
The core responsibilities involve the end-to-end process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to deliver valuable insights. This includes developing clear reports and dashboards to effectively communicate findings. A critical aspect of the role is maintaining data quality and integrity, working closely with various teams to understand their business needs and translate them into data-driven recommendations. The Data Analyst will also be automating manual workflows and exploring cutting-edge technologies to innovate revenue management strategies.

Executing the responsibilities of this role will empower the Revenue team to make data-driven decisions critical for maximizing the airline's revenue performance. The position drives efficiency through workflow enhancements and modernizes legacy revenue management methods by leveraging innovative technology, thereby increasing route profitability.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
Data Acquisition and Management:
- Identify and gather relevant data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets, external platforms). Extract data and ensure accessibility for analysis. Design, maintain, and optimize databases and data systems for efficient storage and retrieval (including SQL).
Data Preparation and Quality Assurance:
- Clean and preprocess data by handling missing values, correcting errors, removing duplicates, and transforming it into a usable format. Implement processes and checks to continuously monitor and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Document data sources, cleaning procedures, and data quality processes.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Apply statistical methods, exploratory data analysis techniques, and other analytical approaches to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies. Document analytical methodologies and reporting processes. Translate data insights into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations to inform strategic and operational decisions.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Create data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards, reports) to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Operations) to understand data requirements, define key questions, and deliver relevant insights.
Revenue Management Innovation:
- Proactively analyze market trends, competition, internal data, and operations to discover opportunities for revenue growth, efficiency improvements, and competitive advantages in revenue management. Design and propose innovative pricing strategies, forecasting models, inventory methods, and customer segmentation using advanced analytics and business understanding. Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies (e.g., AI/ML, analytics software, automation) to modernize revenue management. Plan, execute, and analyze A/B tests and pilot programs. Work closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, IT, Product, and the Revenue Management team to implement innovative concepts into scalable solutions. Define key metrics and reporting to monitor the performance and financial impact of innovations. Keep up-to-date with latest advancements in data science, technology, and revenue management practices, bringing relevant external best practices.
Skills, Qualifications & Abilities Required:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Aviation Management, or related fields (graduate degrees are encouraged to apply).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets (including pivot tables, advanced functions, apps scripts, OWOX).
- Working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Google Data Studio).
- Keen interest in systems and emerging technologies.
- Highly detail-oriented, independent, resourceful, proactive, and a self-starter.
Nice to have:
- Experience using Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of Data Engineering & Data Science.
- Experience in revenue management within the aviation industry or other industries.
- Programming languages e.g., Python, Java Scripts.
