Key Responsibilities
I. Price and Data Collection
- 1. Responsible for the daily collection of iron ore spot prices in Southeast Asia, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of price data;
- 2. Collect industry chain data on Southeast Asian steel mills' production and profitability, as well as iron ore supply, demand, and inventory fundamentals;
- 3. Proactively expand and maintain information collection channels, establishing stable cooperative relationships with mining companies, steel mills, traders, ports, and other market participants across Southeast Asia;
- 4. Maintain regular communication with market participants through phone calls, site visits, industry conferences, and other means to stay abreast of market developments in a timely manner.
II. Database Development and Maintenance
- 1. Build and continuously improve the Southeast Asia iron ore industry chain database, covering core dimensions such as iron ore prices, supply and demand data, import and export data, and steel mill capacity and production updates;
- 2. Systematically organize, categorize, and enter collected data to ensure database completeness and data quality;
- 3. Regularly update and maintain database content, track data trends, and promptly identify and verify anomalous data;
- 4. Produce data products based on the database, including charts and data commentaries.
III. Market News and Research Reports
- 1. Based on collected price data and market information, write daily commentaries, weekly reports, monthly reports, and other regular information products on the Southeast Asian iron ore market;
- 2. Track hot topics and emerging trends in the Southeast Asian iron ore and steel markets, identify newsworthy topics, and write original analytical articles;
- 3. Participate in drafting in-depth research reports on the Southeast Asian iron ore industry chain, including supply-demand analysis, price trend forecasts, and industry policy interpretation;
- 4. Assist the department in delivering professional information services to clients and responding promptly to client data and information requests.
IV. Other Duties
- 1. Participate in research and coverage of relevant industry conferences and exhibitions in Southeast Asia;
- 2. Complete other fundamental and ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
1. Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Economics, Finance, Business, Journalism & Communication, English Language & Literature, or related fields preferred.
2. Language and Skill Requirements
- English proficiency: Fluent in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with excellent translation and English content creation skills. Holders of TEM-8 (Test for English Majors Band 8) or CATTI Level 2 Translation certificates preferred.
- Data sensitivity: Keen perception of data and market information, with strong logical thinking and information organization skills.
- Communication skills: Good cross-team collaboration and client communication abilities, with the capacity to work in a multicultural environment.
3. Experience and Overall Qualities
- No specific work experience required; fresh graduates and candidates with 1–3 years of relevant industry experience are welcome to apply;
- Strong self-motivation, a keen sense of responsibility, and fast learning ability;
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with a certain degree of resilience under pressure;
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and team spirit;
- Legally eligible to work in Malaysia (must hold a valid work permit or local residency status).
