Job summary

Metal in Kuala Lumpur invites undergraduates and master's students to join a regional market research internship. You will support research teams by tracking commodity market dynamics, supply chain updates, and macro trends across Southeast Asia, while collecting and processing public data with high accuracy under guidance from senior analysts.

You will use AI tools to clean and update databases and summarize industry news for daily and weekly reviews.

Qualifications

• Final-year or master's students in Economics, Finance, International Trade, Data Science, Metallurgy, or related fields.
• Strong professional proficiency in English; regional language knowledge is a plus.
• Solid technical agility with interest in AI collaboration tools and data processing software.
• Excellent logical thinking, numerical reasoning, and high attention to detail when handling large datasets.
• Strong teamwork and proactive communication in a fast-paced market research environment.
• Availability to commit to a minimum of 3 to 6 months of internship with flexible/fixed weekly schedule.

• Help maintain and verify standard repository contact lists through routine desktop research and compliance-approved communication channels.
• Collaborate with regional and global research teams to ensure cross-border information sharing and data alignment.
• Provide baseline research, data aggregation, and presentation support for regional market analysis and localized consulting projects.

Job Requirements

• Undergraduates or master’s students in Economics, Finance, International Trade, Data Science, Metallurgy, or related fields (open to final-year students seeking career tracks).
• Strong professional proficiency in verbal and written English to ensure effective communication within an international corporate environment; knowledge of regional languages (e.g., Malay, Mandarin) is a distinct advantage.
