Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Security Analyst/Support (SOC) to join its Security Operations Centre in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. You will monitor, detect and respond to security threats across client IT environments, working in a 24/7 SOC to identify, investigate and resolve incidents promptly.

The role offers the opportunity to grow cybersecurity expertise while protecting valuable assets and sensitive data. Immediate start from Jalan Duta, KL area is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
• Professional IT security certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
• Willing to work 24x7 on rotating shifts in SOC.
• Experience in security monitoring, threat detection and incident response.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, protocols).
• Familiar with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls and endpoint protection.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to document findings clearly; based in Jalan Duta, KL area, immediate start.

We are seeking a Security Analyst/Support (SOC) to join our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team on a fulltime basis in Kuala Lumpur. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to security threats and incidents across our clients' IT environments. You will serve as a critical line of defence, working within a 24/7 security operations centre to ensure that security events are identified, investigated and resolved promptly. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in cybersecurity whilst contributing directly to the protection of valuable business assets and sensitive data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and events generated by security tools and systems in real-time
• Investigate suspicious activities and security incidents to determine their nature and severity
• Document all security events and incidents with detailed logs and reports for audit and compliance purposes
• Respond to security alerts by following established protocols and escalation procedures
• Perform log analysis and threat intelligence reviews to identify patterns and potential security threats
• Support vulnerability assessments and participate in security testing activities
• Assist with security incident response and forensic investigations when required
• Maintain and update security monitoring dashboards and reporting systems
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to implement security improvements and best practices
• Provide support for security tool configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Assist on Helpdesk ticketing escalation
• Perform any ad-hoc task assigned by superior

What we're looking for

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Relevant IT security certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP, or equivalent practical experience in a security operations center
• Able to work 24x7 in SOC operation, rotation shift, 5 days working.
• Proven experience in security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response which includes malware analysis, phishing detection, and social engineering tactics is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and common protocols
• Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms and security tools including intrusion detection systems (IDS), firewalls, and endpoint protection systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and respond swiftly to security incidents
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly and concisely
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.
• Experience with log analysis tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Familiar with VA scanning and Pentest tools is an added advantage
• Will be based in Jalan Duta, KL area and able to start immediately.
