Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Data Center CxA (Commissioning) Engineer to support Southeast Asia data center projects. You will lead testing, commissioning, and technical documentation across electrical, HVAC, and supporting systems.

The role requires hands-on data center commissioning experience, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with local and international teams. Travel to overseas sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data center projects, with exposure to design review, construction supervision, system testing, commissioning, or project delivery.
• Hands-on experience in data center CxA / commissioning is highly preferred.
• Experience in data center technical consulting, construction management, or project delivery management is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience in delivering overseas data center CxA / commissioning projects will be highly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of data center electrical, HVAC, and supporting critical systems.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Certification standards and certification processes is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, and project management skills.
• Able to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and cross-border project teams.
• Willing to travel and work at overseas project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the testing, commissioning, verification, and acceptance of data center electrical, HVAC, and supporting systems.
• Review commissioning procedures, test plans, method statements, and related technical documentation.
• Identify technical issues during testing and commissioning and coordinate corrective actions.
• Conduct data center design reviews and provide technical input to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Monitor construction progress and provide on-site technical guidance during installation and testing.
• Coordinate with contractors and project teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Prepare and review commissioning plans, testing reports, inspection records, technical reports, and project handover documentation.
• Support project delivery and ensure commissioning activities are completed according to project schedules and requirements.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates to clients and internal management.
• Support preparation for Uptime Institute Tier Certification projects.
• Coordinate site audit activities and assist with technical documentation and certification requirements.
• Support rectification and close-out of issues identified during certification or audit activities.
• Coordinate with local construction teams, clients, consultants, contractors, and cross-border project teams.
• Communicate technical requirements and resolve on-site technical issues effectively.
• Support smooth project execution and successful handover.

• Mandarin – Advantage: Ability to understand and communicate in Chinese is an added advantage but not mandatory.
