Job summary

MBSB Bank Berhad wishes to hire an experienced ICE professional to conduct Independent Credit Evaluation on credit proposals from Business Units, ensuring alignment with policy and regulatory requirements.

You will evaluate proposals, ensure complete information, and present mitigations to Management and Credit Committee. Strong analytical, teamwork, and MS Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or professional degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business, Commerce or equivalent.
• CCP certification is an added advantage.
• Fundamental certificate in Islamic Financing or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent assessment and financial analysis (Independent Credit Evaluation [ICE] reports) on credit proposals.
• Ensure adherence to the Bank’s policy, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• ICE reports completed within stipulated turnaround timeframe.
• Evaluate credit proposals and recommend mitigations for submission to the relevant Committee/Management for decision.
• Ensure completeness and adequate material information is provided in the credit proposals and adherence to the Bank’s credit policy, guidelines and financing direction as well as regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proposals are evaluated within the specified TAT, without compromising on quality.
• Provide guidance to Business Units to improve on credit submissions and promote teamwork and collaboration for the Bank’s business growth and asset quality.
• Provide inputs to enhance credit policies, procedures, reporting, etc.
• Perform duties to be assigned by superior from time to time.

Job description

• Perform independent assessment and financial analysis (Independent Credit Evaluation [ICE] reports) on credit proposals submitted by Business Units by ensuring the proposals are in line with the MBSB’s credit policy and lending direction and recommend measures of mitigation for submission to the relevant approving authority.
• To ensure the credit proposals are in adherence to the Bank’s policy, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• To ensure ICE reports are completed within stipulated turnaround timeframe.
• Evaluate credit proposals submitted by Business Units and recommend mitigations for submission to the relevant Committee/Management for decision.
• Ensure completeness and adequate material information is provided in the credit proposals and adherence to the Bank’s credit policy, guidelines and financing direction as well as regulatory requirements so as to maintain quality of assets.
• Ensure that all the credit proposals are evaluated within the specified TAT, without compromising on quality.
• Provide guidance to Business Units to improve on credit submissions and promote teamwork and collaboration for the Bank’s business growth and asset quality.
• Provide inputs to enhance credit policies, procedures, reporting, etc.
• Perform duties to be assigned by superior from time to time.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree and/or Professional Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business, Commerce or equivalent.
• Professional credit certification such as Certified Credit Professional (CCP) will have an added advantage.
• Preferably also possess fundamental certificate in Islamic Financing or equivalent.

Nature of Experience

i. Skills

• Strong analytical skills in performing financial analysis and assessing credit risks and mitigations.
• Good interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team, strong initiative with positive attitude.
• Able to present reports to Management/Credit Committee.
• Competency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.

ii. Experience

• More than 5 years working experience in financial services industry with strong background in credit processing and/or credit evaluation for Corporate/Commercial financings.

iii. Knowledge

• Strong knowledge and understanding in credit assessment, financial analysis and well-versed in cash flow analysis.
• Strong knowledge in business credit and familiar with Corporates/Commercial/SME issues, policies and trends in the industry.
• Good understanding of BNM Policies and Guidelines.
