Our client is a leading training provider for private banking and wealth management based in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Based in Kuala Lumpur, the candidate will play a critical role in the business development and delivery for all programmes in Malaysia.
1. Business, Client & Market Development
- Develop and execute Malaysia’s business development strategy and revenue targets.
- Develop relationships with AICB, HRD Corp and other relevant industry and professional bodies.
- Work closely with Singapore to transition and grow existing Malaysian client relationships currently managed from Singapore.
- Build and manage senior relationships with banks, insurers, wealth/asset managers and other financial institutions.
- Partner with Singapore programme teams to translate Malaysian client needs into programme solutions, leveraging existing curriculum and faculty.
- Originate and convert opportunities across existing programmes and customised solutions.
- Lead major proposals, RFPs, commercial negotiations and strategic account development supported by Singapore.
- Provide local market insights to support programme customisation and development, while avoiding duplication of capabilities in Singapore.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging capability needs to identify new business opportunities.
2. Programme Delivery & HRD Corp
- Manage end-to-end delivery of programmes in Malaysia, working closely with Singapore’s programme teams and faculty.
- Maintain Malaysia’s HRD Corp Training Provider registration and register relevant programmes for funding eligibility.
- Coordinate HRD Corp documentation, compliance and funding/claims requirements with clients.
- Maintain programme and trainer records and keep abreast of changes to HRD Corp requirements.
3. Management & Governance
- Provide overall accountability for Malaysia’s performance, programme quality and local compliance.
- Work closely with Singapore management and central functions to ensure alignment with strategy, standards and policies.
- Manage the Malaysia budget, revenue pipeline and business performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Malaysian corporate, regulatory and governance requirements.
- Provide regular reporting on business performance, pipeline, programme delivery, risks and market developments.
4. Operations & Administration
- Coordinate local programme logistics, participant administration, venues, vendors and faculty arrangements.
- Liaise with corporate secretary, legal counsel, accountants and other local service providers.
- Coordinate local contracting, invoicing, procurement and record-keeping with Singapore.
- Maintain client, programme and operational records and support management reporting.
- Coordinate with Singapore’s Finance, HR, Marketing, IT and other central functions as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Education Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in any discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 to 8 years of working experience in managing, organising, or delivery of training programmes or events in education institution or industry-leading organizations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Track record in business development, customer relations, outreach or sales.
- Proven project management experience and ability to multi-task with successful outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent language skills, both verbal and written in both English Language and Bahasa Malaysia.
- High energy and positive minded, focused and goal-oriented.
- Fast learner and with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; shows great initiative.
- Proficient with digital platforms and able to handle technology with ease.
