Role: APAC Counsel, Offboarding and Litigation
Location: Remote - Based out Malaysia
About the Role
We are seeking an APAC Counsel, Offboarding and Litigation to take full ownership of Philippines-based offboarding, conciliation, and litigation matters, while providing ad hoc litigation and offboarding support across the wider APAC region. You will serve as the in-house specialist on labor law, statutory due process, and dispute resolution, ensuring every termination and contentious matter is handled with legal rigor, commercial sensibility, and audit-ready documentation.
You will represent the company in APAC offboardings, proceedings, litigation, and administrative hearings, while simultaneously partnering with internal stakeholders and external counsel to strengthen offboarding frameworks. You will also work closely with the Product team to translate legal requirements and lessons learned from live cases into platform improvements that reduce risk and scale compliance.
The ideal candidate brings deep Philippine employment litigation expertise, the ability to navigate complex multi-jurisdiction APAC matters, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset suited to a fast-paced, client-facing global environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in an APAC jurisdiction, with approximately 3 or more years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Experience in Vietnam or Indonesia is strongly preferred.
- Strong practical experience in employment and labour law in at least one APAC jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience advising on employee terminations, redundancies, mutual separations, disciplinary matters, performance management, grievances or employment disputes.
- Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
- Ability to draft clear and commercially practical legal advice, termination documentation, settlement agreements, legal notices and internal guidance.
- Experience managing external counsel and coordinating employment matters across different jurisdictions is an advantage.
- Strong legal research, analytical and risk-assessment skills.
- Ability to manage a high volume of matters, prioritise urgent cases and meet strict legal and operational deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote and fast-paced international environment.
- Ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients and non-legal teams.
- Practical, solutions-oriented and commercially aware approach to legal risk.
- Experience working in-house, within an international law firm or in a multinational, technology, HR or Employer of Record environment is preferred.

- Draft and review termination letters, settlement agreements, disciplinary documentation, legal opinions, consultation materials and other employment-related documents.
- Manage employment disputes, threatened claims and litigation, working with external counsel where necessary.
- Work closely with internal Legal, HR, Payroll, Operations and Customer Success teams to ensure legally compliant and timely case management.
- Communicate directly with clients, explain applicable legal requirements and provide clear recommendations on available options, procedures, costs and risks.
- Monitor developments in APAC employment law and maintain internal country guidance, templates and legal processes.
- Support the improvement and standardisation of offboarding and litigation processes across the APAC region.
- Maintain accurate case records and proactively manage deadlines, dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
