Job summary

ASE Electronics Malaysia is seeking a Costing Manager to oversee end-to-end product costing, pricing governance, and financial evaluation to support strategic decisions. The role leads the costing team, ensures accurate cost models, and drives continuous improvements in costing methodologies across the business.

You will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to optimize cost structures, prepare budgets and forecasts, and review CAPEX proposals in line with

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong experience in costing and manufacturing cost accounting; higher experience is advantageous.
• Mandarin speakers preferred to support job-related communication needs.
• Strong analytical ability with proficiency in handling large data sets using advanced Excel and relevant analytical tools.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; proactive, committed, and able to take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the costing team to ensure high performance and compliance with corporate requirements.
• Oversee costing team workload, performance management, and capability building.
• Establish, maintain, and enforce standardized costing processes, procedures, and pricing governance.
• Oversee the preparation, validation, and approval of customer RFQs, quotations, and complex pricing proposals.
• Ensure costing accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with business strategies and profitability objectives.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to develop sustainable costing models and optimize product/process cost structures.
• Lead detailed analyses of cost fluctuations, product and customer profitability, and margin performance; provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Identify key cost drivers and spearhead cost‑improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives across departments.
• Lead automation efforts and develop advanced costing tools, templates, and dashboards to enhance costing efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial input for annual budgeting, cost forecasting, and operating expenses analysis.
• Review, validate, and submit CAPEX proposals in compliance with corporate guidelines and strategic priorities.
• Support commercial and management teams with financial insights during pricing reviews and business negotiations.
• Prepare management reports, business cases, and ad‑hoc financial analyses to support decision‑making.
• Perform any other duties or special assignments as required by senior management.
