Develop and implement corporate communication strategies to enhance brand reputation and visibility. Oversee media relations, press releases, and corporate announcements to ensure a consistent brand narrative. Ensure alignment between corporate messaging, internal communications, and external branding efforts. Work with marketing teams to ensure a unified corporate identity across all platforms.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with regulators, government agencies, policymakers, and industry associations. Represent the company in public forums, regulatory meetings, and industry events to advocate for Takaful interests. Monitor regulatory changes, government policies, and industry trends to provide insights to senior management. Prepare position papers, corporate reports, and official correspondence for government and regulatory stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations, IFSA 2013, AML/CFT guidelines, and Bursa Malaysia corporate governance requirements. Liaise with regulatory authorities (BNM, SSM, Securities Commission, and Bursa Malaysia) on corporate and compliance matters. Work closely with legal and risk teams to ensure corporate policies are aligned with regulatory requirements. Oversee regulatory filings, disclosures, and corporate governance reporting.
Develop and implement crisis communication protocols to manage public relations risks and reputational threats. Act as a key spokesperson or liaison during crisis situations, regulatory inquiries, or media controversies. Monitor media coverage, public sentiment, and potential reputational risks to ensure proactive response strategies. Coordinate with PR and legal teams to develop official responses for crisis management.
Lead the company’s CSR initiatives, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) programs, and sustainability projects. Work with sustainability teams to develop ESG disclosures and sustainability reports as per Bursa Malaysia guidelines. Organize community engagement programs, charitable initiatives, and corporate responsibility campaigns. Ensure alignment between corporate values, CSR programs, and stakeholder expectations.
Develop and execute internal communication plans to keep employees informed and engaged. Manage internal newsletters, leadership messages, and corporate town halls to foster transparency and employee trust. Support HR and leadership teams in change management communication and organizational updates. Align corporate messaging with employee engagement and company culture initiatives.
Track and report corporate communication effectiveness, regulatory engagement outcomes, and media coverage trends. Prepare board reports, annual reports, and corporate affairs updates for senior management and investors. Use data-driven insights and sentiment analysis to refine corporate affairs strategies.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Law, or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 8-12 years in corporate affairs, public relations, regulatory engagement, or corporate governance, preferably in Takaful, insurance, or financial services.
Corporate Communications & Public Relations Expertise: Strong experience in media relations, corporate branding, and public affairs management. Ability to craft corporate messages, executive speeches, and press statements.
Regulatory Affairs & Government Relations: Strong knowledge of BNM regulations, IFSA 2013, AML/CFT compliance, and Bursa Malaysia disclosure requirements. Experience in engaging with government agencies, industry regulators, and policy influencers.
Crisis Communication & Reputation Management: Proven ability to handle media crises, reputational risks, and crisis communication protocols. Experience in risk mitigation, regulatory negotiations, and stakeholder conflict resolution.
CSR & ESG Compliance: Experience managing corporate social responsibility programs, sustainability initiatives, and ESG reporting. Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia ESG disclosure requirements and sustainability governance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Internal Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to engage with executives, employees, investors, and external partners. Ability to align corporate messaging with internal engagement and leadership communication.
Performance Tracking & Data Analytics: Ability to analyze media performance, corporate reputation scores, and regulatory engagement effectiveness. Proficiency in using media monitoring tools, sentiment analysis platforms, and corporate reporting systems.
