Job summary

Maybank is seeking a Data Strategist to own the data migration, cleansing, and reconciliation strategy for the Core Banking Innovation programme. The role defines migration approach, mapping, and reconciliation frameworks and leads execution of migration tests and sign-off.

You will collaborate with business data owners, BAs, and engineering teams to manage risks, provide regular progress reports, and ensure data quality. Strong ETL, Oracle/MS SQL experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, migration, or data management leadership roles.
• Proven data migration experience in core banking or large financial transformations.
• Strong ETL, data mapping, and reconciliation framework knowledge.
• Hands-on with Oracle, MS SQL and large-volume data extraction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to design controls to ensure data integrity at scale.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute data migration tests, mock and dress rehearsals.
• Build legacy data extractions and reports for migration, reconciliation, and audit.
• Execute data cleansing activities and sign-off reconciliation results.
• Define and enforce data validation rules and quality gates.
• Maintain migration playbooks, mapping documents, and reconciliation evidence.
• Support BAU data operations and remediation of post-migration data issues.
