Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Experienced Data Engineering Lead to guide large-scale banking data migration and modernization initiatives. You will architect end-to-end data migration strategies, build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure compliant, secure solutions across cloud platforms.

You will lead cross-functional teams of data engineers, analysts and architects, driving governance, data quality, and performance optimization while coordinating with stakeholders to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data engineering teams on banking data migration projects.
• Proven ability to design end-to-end migration strategies and scalable pipelines.
• Strong governance, security and regulatory compliance knowledge.
• Experience collaborating with regional/global stakeholders on enterprise-scale initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data engineering activities for banking transformation and migration projects.
• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for migrating data from legacy core banking systems to modern cloud platforms.
• Define migration strategies including data mapping, profiling, cleansing, validation, reconciliation and cutover planning.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, business analysts and project managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Establish data quality, governance, security and regulatory compliance throughout migration lifecycle.
• Develop and optimize data models, data warehouses and data lakes for reporting and analytics.
• Lead a team of data engineers with mentoring, code reviews and best practices.
• Ensure high availability, performance and scalability of data pipelines.
• Coordinate SIT, UAT, production deployment and post-migration validation.
• Manage project risks, issue resolution, resource planning and delivery timelines.
