Job summary

Fuku is seeking a Contract Manager (Data Centre Projects) in Kuala Lumpur to own contract administration, commercial strategies, and procurement for complex data centre builds in Malaysia's digital hub.

You will report to a Project Director and collaborate with internal controls, planning, and MEP managers to maintain a robust commercial operation. The role requires deep FIDIC knowledge and multi-year lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in commercial construction contract management.
• Mastery of FIDIC contracts and cost control processes.
• Experience with Malaysian contract law (e.g., CIPAA) and procurement.
• Experience with high-value data centre or mega-projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead client representative for pre- and post-contract management, cost containment strategies, and procurement frameworks on high-value, mission-critical builds.
• Oversee, administer, and defend contractual positions using the FIDIC suite of contracts (Red, Yellow, and Silver Books, 1999 and 2017 editions).
• Manage high-stakes procurement packages, including auditing Long Lead Equipment (LLE) and Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) supply chains.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex variations, Extension of Time (EOT) cost impacts, claims, and final accounts submitted by tier-1 general contractors.
• Protect the project from commercial risk by establishing comprehensive risk registers, monitoring cash-flow performance, and providing regular financial forecast reports directly to global client stakeholders.

What you will need

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction contract management, with at least 3 years dedicated to high-complexity, large-scale developments or hyperscale data centers.
• Mastery of FIDIC contract conditions, claims handling procedures, and Malaysian construction law/mechanisms (such as CIPAA).
• Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure costing, including capital expenditure values for heavy civil/structural works and heavy MEP packages.

About you

• Background with tier-1 main contractors or global consultancies, particularly in Malaysia or international technical quantity surveying/cost consultancies.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-year financial lifecycles of mega-projects (e.g., power generation plants, heavy utilities, or data centers) from early procurement to final account closeout.
• Active professional credentials are highly preferred, such as PMP certification, chartership with RICS or ISM, or registration with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM).
