Job summary

TikTok is seeking a quality and policy reviewer to develop and maintain Operational Guidelines, generate high-quality testing sets, and analyze complex cases to improve enforcement accuracy. The role coordinates with Policy, Product, Engineering, and Training teams to translate guidelines into SOPs and training materials.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, strong English, and Mandarin skills, plus 1+ years in QA or editorial review.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English as a primary working language and fluent in Mandarin Chinese for reviewing Mandarin content.
• 1+ years of experience in quality assurance, training, editorial review, or a related field.
• Expertise in content moderation policy, operational guideline development, and enforcement workflows.
• Strong command of English with precision, clarity, and operational feasibility in writing.
• Ability to design and deliver interactive training materials and sessions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and maintain Operational Guidelines for assigned policy areas, translating policy intent into clear, actionable instructions.
• Produce, validate, and maintain high-quality Testing Sets for calibration, QA evaluation, arbitration, and operational assessments.
• Analyze complex, ambiguous, and high-risk cases to provide structured clarifications and inform improvements.
• Support arbitration, QA, training, and calibration workflows by identifying misapplication patterns and gaps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Policy, Governance, Product, Engineering, Algo, and Training teams to ensure scalability of OGs and Testing Sets.
• Track quality and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive efficiency.
• Contribute to ad-hoc quality and governance initiatives that enhance enforcement quality.

About the team

The AI Data Service and Operations (ADSO) team is responsible for providing safety and non-safety data annotation services and search operation services for all of the company's international products, which can also help international products build their own data ecological security.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and maintain Operational Guidelines for assigned policy areas, translating policy intent into clear, actionable instructions and ensuring alignment with policy changes, platform updates, and operational best practices.
• Produce, validate, and maintain high-quality Testing Sets for calibration, QA evaluation, arbitration, and operational assessments, ensuring balanced coverage of scenarios, content types, and edge cases.
• Analyze complex, ambiguous, and high-risk cases to provide structured clarifications, reduce enforcement discrepancies, and inform OG and Testing Set improvements.
• Support arbitration, QA, training, and calibration workflows by identifying misapplication patterns and operational gaps, driving measurable improvements in reviewer accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Policy, Governance, Product, Engineering, Algo, and Training teams to ensure OGs and Testing Sets are scalable, actionable, and effectively translated into SOPs and training materials.
• Track quality and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous enhancements in enforcement accuracy, workflow efficiency, and cross-team effectiveness.
• Contribute to ad-hoc quality and governance initiatives that enhance enforcement quality, operational effectiveness, and team performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably with policy, content moderation, or quality-related work.
• Proficient in English as a primary working language and fluent in Mandarin Chinese for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, and assessing content published in the Mandarin language.
• 1+ years of experience in quality assurance, training, editorial review, or a related field;
• Expertise in content moderation policy, operational guideline development, and enforcement workflows.
• Strong command of English with exceptional attention to detail, clarity, and linguistic consistency, and excellent written communication skills with emphasis on precision, clarity, and operational feasibility.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and enforce complex guidelines or policies in writing-focused workflows, and experience evaluating qualitative content and using data to inform process improvements.
• Ability to design and deliver interactive, engaging training materials and sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

• High level of self-motivation, solution-oriented thinking, and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with machine-executable logic, labeling frameworks, or test-set workflows.
• Experience collaborating with Policy, Product, Governance, Engineering, or Training teams.
• Knowledge of scenario coverage, positive/negative balance, and dataset validation.
• Prior experience in content moderation, AI, or technical writing teams is a plus.
