Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a Safety Officer to lead daily safety duties on site, conduct inductions, and ensure adherence to safety rules and PPE requirements. The role includes site supervision, toolbox talks, and interaction with clients and consultants.

You will work 9:00am–6:00pm at Elmina, Selangor, with responsibilities spanning risk assessments, permits-to-work, and accuracy in safety reporting. Proficiency in English and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid DOSH Green Book / Yellow Book registration (preferred).
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction, infrastructure, or utility projects.
• Working hours: 9.00am - 6.00pm.
• Sound knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other applicable Malaysian HSE regulations.
• Experience conducting site safety inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
• Familiarity with Work at Height, excavation works, permit-to-work systems, and PPE compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage workers, clients, and consultants.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and preparation of safety reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily safety briefing.
• Conduct morning site walk (PM walk if required).
• Enforce safety rules at all times.
• Check green zone is free from hazards and all safety barriers are intact.
• Conduct safety induction for new workers.
• Accompany client or safety personnel during site visits.
• Enforce rules for Work at Height and excavation safety requirements.
• Ensure all workers wear proper PPE at all times.
• Upkeep and maintain all safety apparatus.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and coordinate with consultant safety team.
• Conduct fortnightly safety meeting chaired by Director; prepare meeting minutes.
• Submit monthly safety report online via website.
• Enforce strict entry control to the work site.
