Job summary

GET BUILDERS PROSPECT SDN BHD is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Officer to join our Health, Safety and Environment team at our Puncak Alam site in Selangor. This full-time role focuses on ensuring compliance with Malaysian safety regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across construction operations.

You will develop policies, conduct site inspections, lead training, manage incidents, and liaise with regulators to protect workers and support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH certified or equivalent) or relevant safety certification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, including OSHA requirements and CIDB guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Proficiency in safety management systems and ability to develop and implement safety procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and engage workers at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures and protocols aligned with Malaysian safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure all work areas meet safety standards.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Deliver safety training and induction programmes to all site personnel, including workers, supervisors and management.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate safety records, incident reports and documentation as required by regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders on safety matters and compliance issues.
• Promote a positive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all site operations.
• Prepare safety reports and metrics for management review and continuous improvement.
• Ensure site activities comply with DOSH safety requirements and company safety policies.
