Job summary

CHINA CONSTRUCTION YANGTZE RIVER (M) SDN. BHD. in Malaysia seeks a Health and Safety Officer to oversee construction site safety, ensuring compliance with local laws and group standards.

You will identify risks, lead safety planning, and coordinate training and daily inspections with site teams.

This role requires strong knowledge of Malaysian regulations and the ability to implement safety improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Production Safety Law and Malaysia's safety regulations.
• Strong knowledge of standards such as JGJ59-2011 and JGJ46-2005.
• Understanding of corporate safety management manuals used by the company.
• Ability to identify safety risks from the project overview and support the Safety Management Plan.
• Familiar with safety responsibilities of each position and lead assessments.
• Experience with safety education, training, and pre-shift announcements.
• Experience with safety inspections and hazard identification with corrective actions.
• Knowledge of Special Rectification Actions and leadership development programs.
• Awareness of international and domestic safety excellence standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify project safety risks and preventive controls on site as part of daily management.
• Lead the preparation and implementation of the Project Safety Management Plan.
• Understand safety responsibilities and lead assessments.
• Conduct safety education and training, including pre-shift announcements and weekly sessions.
• Carry out daily safety inspections and support weekly and special inspections.
• Identify hazards and propose targeted rectifications.
• Implement Special Rectification Actions and safety capability improvements.
• Align project safety work with international and domestic safety excellence standards.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure safety compliance across all activities.
