Job summary

Sinergia Talents Sdn Bhd is seeking a Construction Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee all on-site construction activities in Shah Alam. You will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting quality standards and local regulations.

The role requires leading site teams, managing subcontractors, monitoring progress with schedules, controlling costs, and coordinating with clients, consultants, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• CIDB Green Card is required; registration as Professional Engineer (Ir.) or PMP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Develop and monitor project schedules to meet milestones and completion dates.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular progress reports.
• Resolve technical and operational issues during construction.
• Supervise site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Manage site resources including manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
• Review subcontractor claims and progress payments.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Control material wastage and improve productivity.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CIDB requirements, and local regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Investigate site incidents and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate inspections and testing with consultants.
• Address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Review project contracts and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Manage variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims where applicable.
• Liaise with clients regarding project progress and contractual matters.
• Assist other construction or engineering division on active projects.
• Assist in business development division on strategies and cost planning.
• Provide expertise on project decision making.

About the Role

• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and QA/QC procedures.

Contract Administration

• Review project contracts and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Manage variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims where applicable.
• Liaise with clients regarding project progress and contractual matters.

Off-Peak Assignments

• To assist other construction or engineering division on active projects.
• To assist in business development division on strategies and cost planning.
• To provide expertise on project decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CIDB Green Card (required), with registration as a Professional Engineer (Ir.) or Project Management certification (PMP) being an advantage.

Required Experience

• 8–15 years of construction experience. Solar farm construction experience will be an impressive advantage.
• At least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience managing high-rise buildings, commercial developments, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or combined construction projects.
• Familiarity with local construction standards and regulations.
