Job summary

Trip Guard Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned Site Lead to oversee the electrical installation of a 275kV GIS substation for a hyperscale data centre. You will ensure safe, on-time delivery, adherence to OEM standards, and act as the main interface with the main contractor and OEM supervisors.

Responsibilities include planning installation activities, tracking progress, coordinating with contractors and OEM teams, managing subcontractors, enforcing HSE, and reporting to management and the client.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in construction with HV substations (132kV/275kV) or power plants.
• Hands-on GIS and transformer installation under OEM supervision.
• Experience on data centre or fast-track projects is an advantage.
• Strong programme, subcontractor and interface management.

• Plan and manage installation of 275kV GIS, SF6 busducts, power transformers, 33kV cables, LV/control cabling, panels and earthing.
• Develop and track the installation programme, manpower histogram and daily and weekly progress.
• Coordinate with the main contractor, OEM erection supervisors and other trades at the interfaces.
• Manage subcontractors, site resources, plant and lifting operations.
• Enforce HSE requirements, including PTW, LOTO and lifting plans, with the SSS.
• Control variations, site instructions and remeasurement records with the commercial team.
• Chair site meetings and report progress to management and the client.

Job description

• Plan and manage installation of 275kV GIS, SF6 busducts, power transformers, 33kV cables, LV/control cabling, panels and earthing
• Develop and track the installation programme, manpower histogram and daily and weekly progress
