Job summary

PCP Concrete Pile Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct testing on concrete, cement, aggregates, and precast products to ensure conformance with mix designs and relevant standards.

You will record results, flag non-conformances, calibrate lab equipment, and assist with mix-design trials under QA/QC supervision. Willingness to work at batching plants and on-site locations is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent; Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in concrete/construction materials testing lab is a plus.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
• Willing to work at both lab and site/batching plant locations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing of fresh concrete (slump test, making test cube) at batching plant and site.
• Conduct raw material testing (aggregate grading, moisture content, sand silt content, cement quality checks).
• Record and compile test results accurately; flag non-conformances to the QA/QC Manager.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; ensure proper functioning of testing tools.
• Maintain lab cleanliness, sample storage, and proper labeling/traceability of samples.
• Prepare test reports and certificates for internal QC records or client submission.
• Assist in mix design trials and adjustments as directed by the QA/QC Manager.
• Follow lab safety procedures and use PPE when handling materials and equipment.
