Job summary

KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to provide basic nursing care and support across ward operations. You will assist doctors and nurses, register patients on arrival, and help with admissions, examinations, and procedures.

The role also involves stock management, patient transport, and ensuring clean, safe care environments. Experience with patient care, strong communication, and ability to follow hospital procedures is required.

Qualifications

• SPM certification preferred for healthcare assistants.
• Ability to assist doctors during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and manage stock levels in ward and stores.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care aligned with the hospital’s vision and objectives.
• Notify nursing leaders of situations impacting quality of care.
• Take unit reports at shift start and assist as assigned by Unit Manager or Senior RN.
• Receive and register patients, assist with admissions forms, exams, and procedures.
• Assist trained staff with patient care, transfers, hygiene, nutrition, and records; manage supplies.
• Attend service meetings and coordinate with other departments as needed.
