Job summary

MACAIN ENERGY SERVICES SDN. BHD. is seeking a Data Center Commissioning professional to support the Cx Lead in planning and executing LV and MV electrical system commissioning across critical projects in Malaysia.

You will perform hands-on pre-commissioning and commissioning works, conduct electrical testing and witnessing FAT/SAT, manage documentation, and coordinate with construction teams to ensure quality, safety, and on-time handover.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in Data Center Commissioning or mission-critical electrical projects (4 years for Senior).
• Hands-on LV/MV systems experience: switchgears, panels, transformers, cables.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning documentation.
• Good coordination, reporting and site execution skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cx Lead in planning and executing LV/MV Data Center Commissioning activities.
• Perform hands-on pre-commissioning and commissioning works on electrical equipment.
• Execute system energization and powering-up in coordination with safety teams.
• Carry out loop, continuity, insulation, functional and integrated tests.
• Witness FAT/SAT and manage punch items and commissioning issues.
• Prepare and maintain test procedures, records, checklists and reports.
• Update schedules, trackers and system readiness documents; assist handover files.

Job description

To support the Cx Lead in executing Data Center Commissioning (Cx) activities for low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems, providing hands-on commissioning support and managing commissioning documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Cx Lead in planning and executing Data Center Commissioning (Cx) activities for low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems.

Perform hands-on pre-commissioning and commissioning works, including switchgears, power panels, transformers, cables, and associated electrical equipment.

Execute system energization and powering-up activities in coordination with construction and safety teams.

Testing & Electrical Activities

Carry out and support electrical testing activities, including loop checks, continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, functional tests, and integrated systems testing.

Assist in executing and witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests for electrical equipment.

Support identification, tracking, and closure of punch items and commissioning issues.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation, including test procedures, test records, checklists, and commissioning reports.

Update commissioning schedules, trackers, and system readiness documentation.

Support preparation of handover documents, as-built records, and operating manuals.

Coordination, Quality & Safety

Coordinate commissioning activities with construction teams, vendors, subcontractors, and other disciplines.

Ensure all commissioning activities comply with Quality, Health, Safety and Environment requirements and site procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Center Commissioning (Cx) or mission-critical electrical projects. (4 Years Minimum for Senior)

Strong hands-on experience with low voltage and medium voltage systems, switchgears, lighting system, power panels, and cable systems.

Good knowledge of electrical testing, energization procedures, and commissioning documentation.

Strong coordination, reporting, and site execution skills.
