Job summary

Oriental Coffee International Sdn Bhd (Retail) is seeking a kitchen team member to master basic cooking methods and prepare fresh ingredients daily. You will ensure proper storage and maintain cleanliness, while upholding food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The role requires teamwork, the ability to follow directions from the Head Chef, and availability to work weekends and shifts. Training and meal provisions are provided as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• SPM or Diploma in a related field is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in the same role in F&B.
• Good team player and able to work independently.
• Willing to work weekends, public holidays and shifts.
• Able to follow directions from Head Chef and maintain consistent food preparation.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Master basic cooking methods and prepare ingredients daily.
• Ensure proper storage of food and equipment areas.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Observe safety precautions when handling kitchen tools and machines.
• Support Head Chef and Chef De Partie with daily duties and team tasks.

Job description

Master all basic cooking methods like cutting of ingredients.

Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to menu/sop needed for the station daily.

Responsible for proper storage of food preparation and storage area.

Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.

To perform overall cleaning duty of the kitchen area, all crockery and equipment.

To always maintain food safety standard.

Be familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and

observe safety precautions when handling them.

To undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head Chef & Chef De Partie.

Ability to work in a team

Work Requirements: -

Candidate must possess at least SPM/Diploma in related field.

At least have 1 Year experience in same job role in F&B industry.

Good team player able to work independently.

Able to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.

Be able to follow directions from the Head chef and be consistent with the food

preparation.

Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering top-quality dishes.
