CNC Setup Technician – Precision Machining & Tooling

Job summary

LVio Precision in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up machines for production runs, load programs, select appropriate cutting tools and adjust parameters to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities include establishing x/y/z datum, verifying tool lengths, checking FP on new runs, performing tool changes, and ensuring precise alignment and inspection of machined parts for conformance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience.
• Preferred skill(s): Good experience in machine setup, software, and grinding applications.

Responsibilities

• Setup CNC machine for production runs, including loading CNC program, select appropriate cutting tools and adjust machine parameters to meet production requirements
• Setup of x/y/z datum for each piece; verify tool lengths and confirm in controller to avoid crash or damage
• Load/unload jigs & vise from CNC machine, and ensure squareness on machine table
• Check first piece (FP) for every part on new run; adjust cutting tool compensation in machine (d) where required
• Standby for operators in the event of excessive tool wear or tool breakage, and replacement cutting tool if necesary
• Perform tooling changeover as needed, including installing, removing and adjusting cutting tools, inserts and tool holders to optimize machining performance
• Ensure proper alignment and positioning of workpieces to achieve accurate and consistent machining results
• Monitor machining operations and inspect machined parts to verify conformance to specification
