Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a machine tool setter/operator for its Penang production start-up. You will set and operate lathes, mills and NC machines, ensuring tight tolerances and high quality pieces.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in a machine shop, can read drawings and SOPs, and can work independently in a team. Willingness to work shifts and OT is required.

Qualifications

• Able to work independently.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Able to speak and write simple English.
• Able to read and interpret SOP and Work Instructions.
• Team player with good problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Set and/or operate various machine tools, working to fine tolerances.
• Setting one or more types of machine tool for production of metal articles in standardized series.
• Operating and monitoring metal working machines such as lathes, milling, planning, boring, drilling, grinding or honing machines, including multipurpose numerically controlled metal working machines.
• Observing machine operations to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions and adjusting machines as necessary.
• Inspecting work pieces for defects, and measuring work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates or other measuring instruments.
• Changing worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes, using hand tools.
