We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist - Milling & Turning to join our manufacturing operations team in Simpang Ampat, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision components and parts. You will play a critical part in ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet strict quality standards, delivery schedules and safety requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced machining technology whilst contributing to the successful delivery of our products to clients across various industries.
Operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to technical drawings, specifications and work orders
Setting up CNC machines, including tool changes, calibration and workpiece positioning to ensure accurate production
Monitoring machine operation and product output to identify and address any deviations from specifications
Performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment to maintain optimal performance
Conducting quality inspections on completed parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and pin gauge
Maintaining detailed records of production runs, machine performance and any issues encountered
Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the manufacturing facility
Collaborating with supervisors, quality control and other team members to resolve production issues
Continuously improving machining techniques and identifying opportunities for process optimisation
Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, ideally 2+ years in a similar role
Strong knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and quality control procedures
Solid understanding of machining principles, cutting tools and materials
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple production tasks efficiently
A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety protocols
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Preferred: Experience with specific CNC software platforms or exposure to CAM programming
