Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Penang is seeking a CNC Machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce quality parts. You will verify settings, measure parts, and maintain accurate logs while ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

The role requires SPM or a Certificate in Machining, basic Bahasa Malaysia, and strong attention to detail. Assist in quality improvement initiatives and maintain equipment and work area to high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines and performing set-up.
• Understanding of blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Basic Bahasa Malaysia reading/writing; arithmetic skills.
• SPM or Certificate in Machining.

Responsibilities

• Produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating CNC machines.
• Verify settings by measuring first-run parts and samples.
• Maintain specifications by inspecting drilling, turning, knurling, and finishing operations.
• Document actions by updating production and quality logs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and adjust controls as needed.
• Ensure only quality parts leave to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.

Ensure product machining meet specification and customer's quality expectation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to the following:

• Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to company standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Ensure correct, good quality products are only allowed to leave manufacturing to be shipped to customer.
• Participate in quality improvement project.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

SPM holder or Certificate in Machining.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required. Ability to speak, read and write in Bahasa Malaysia.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to count and perform simple mathematical calculation.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints and schematics.

EQUIPMENT USED

Computer, calculator, quality check equipment and gauges.
