Job summary

Disk Precision Industries Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on CNC Auto Lathe Technician/Machinist to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sliding-head auto lathe and CNC machines. The role includes coaching production operators to build local technical capability on the shop floor.

You will perform fast product setups, programming, and tool handling to optimize processes, while ensuring quality and meeting daily production targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• SPM or certificate in precision machining required.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience in manufacturing or machining, specifically with sliding-head CNC auto lathes.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, parameter adjustments and tooling control management.
• Ability to read and write CNC programs is a distinct advantage.
• Good communication and coaching skills to train operators on SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and optimize turning lathes and CNC equipment to meet production schedules and reduce downtime.
• Program and adjust CNC parameters; oversee tooling control and process design to improve tool life and cycle time.
• Troubleshoot, perform major repairs, and carry out preventive maintenance on machines.
• Coach and train production operators on basic operation and SOP adherence.
• Monitor machine performance to ensure quality and daily production targets.
• Maintain clean 5S workstation and adhere to safety guidelines.
