Job summary

Frost & Sullivan is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Malaysia with at least 2 years of hands-on experience to design, implement and monitor security controls across cloud platforms, primarily Azure. You will work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to integrate security into deployments and improve threat detection, logging and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in cloud security or related technical security role.
  • Solid understanding of IAM, network security, data protection, logging & monitoring.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Azure.
  • Familiarity with security tooling like SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint protection.
  • Knowledge of secure configurations for VMs, storage, networking, containers, and cloud services.
  • Experience supporting incident response and operational troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Sentinel or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Intune, Defender and Purview is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security controls across cloud platforms, mainly Azure.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security events and misconfigurations.
  • Assist incident investigation and response.
  • Review configurations and perform risk analysis for cloud-hosted systems.
  • Manage identity and access controls with least privilege and RBAC.
  • Collaborate with infra, DevOps and apps teams to secure deployments.
  • Maintain cloud security tooling: logging, alerting, posture management.
  • Contribute to security documentation and runbooks.
  • Support compliance and audit activities by gathering evidence.
  • Stay current with cloud threats and best practices.

Job Description

Position Title: Cloud Security Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience in cloud security, infrastructure security, or a related cybersecurity role. The successful candidate will help design, implement, monitor, and improve security controls across cloud platforms, supporting secure operations, threat detection, identity and access management, and compliance requirements. This role is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation who is looking to grow and expand upon their expertise in securing modern cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing and implementing security controls across cloud platforms, predominantly Microsoft Azure
  • Monitor cloud environments for security events, misconfigurations, and suspicious activity, and support incident investigation and response.
  • Perform configuration reviews and risk analysis for cloud-hosted systems and services.
  • Support the implementation and management of identity and access controls, including least privilege, role-based access, and privileged account protection.
  • Work with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to integrate security into cloud deployments and operational processes.
  • Help maintain and improve cloud security tooling, including logging, alerting, posture management, and endpoint or workload protection solutions.
  • Contribute to security documentation, standards, procedures, and technical runbooks.
  • Support compliance and audit activities by helping gather evidence and validating security controls.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
Required Experience And Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity engineering, infrastructure security, or a related technical security role.
  • Good understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, network security, data protection, logging, and monitoring.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with security tools and services such as cloud-native security platforms, SIEM, vulnerability management, and endpoint detection solutions.
  • Understanding of secure configuration practices for virtual machines, storage, networking, containers, and cloud services.
  • Experience supporting security incident response, remediation, or operational troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Sentinel or similar tools would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of Intune, Defender and Purview would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300, CCSK, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD security, or DevSecOps practices.
  • Exposure to regulatory or customer security requirements in enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in a SOC, engineering, or cloud operations environment.
  • Experience working with AWS would be beneficial.
