Job summary

Starhub Ltd seeks a Senior Cloud FinOps Lead based in Kuala Lumpur to drive cloud cost management and optimization across AWS and Azure. You will lead cost governance, reporting, and collaboration with Finance and IT to cut waste and improve efficiency.

The role requires deep technical cost expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to implement scalable cost-saving strategies using AWS tools and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).
• Experience with capacity forecasting, cloud cost optimization techniques, financial reporting, and workflow management in large service environments.
• Understanding of cloud providers, platforms and workload patterns; familiarity with cloud billing impact on TCO.
• Ability to develop effective reporting schemes/metrics to control usage and billing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze AWS cloud costs to identify trends, inefficiencies and savings opportunities.
• Develop and implement cost optimization strategies (rightsizing resources, reserved instances, savings plans).
• Review and manage AWS resources to ensure efficient utilization.
• Evaluate AWS pricing models (on-demand, spot, reserved) based on workloads.
• Generate detailed cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders.
• Define and enforce cloud cost governance policies across the org.
• Define cost KPIs and track performance against benchmarks.
• Configure and use AWS tools and third-party cost management solutions.
• Collaborate with application owners, Finance and IT to optimize cloud costs.
• Stay updated with AWS features and cost management best practices.
