Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support its multi-cloud estate, with AWS as the primary platform and Azure as a key secondary platform. You will maintain VMs, containers (including EKS), IaC in Terraform, and automation scripts across global time zones.

The role emphasizes production readiness, security, and cost awareness in a hybrid environment. You will collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams to onboard new services, perform incident response, and coach

Qualifications

Strong AWS experience in a large enterprise infra, including troubleshooting and day-to-day ops.
Azure experience preferred; interest in multiple cloud platforms.
Hands-on Windows and Linux server support, cloud and on-premises.
Terraform experience is a must, including maintaining IaC.
Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
Containerisation experience with EKS or similar.
Good cloud security, IAM, patching and vulnerability management.
Backup and data protection experience with recovery and resilience understanding.
Experience migrating on-prem services to cloud.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
Cloud cost awareness and spend optimization.
AI-driven automation to reduce repetitive tasks.
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence; strong governance.
Self-motivated with ownership mindset.
Clear written/spoken English; ability to coach colleagues.
Willingness for on-call and international time zones; potential move to 24/7.

Responsibilities

Provide 2nd/3rd level support for AWS workloads and other clouds as they come on board.
Support VMs and container workloads including EKS; patching, backup, monitoring.
Respond to incidents; perform root cause analysis and resolve.
Develop runbooks, monitoring, alerting and handover criteria for new workloads.
Collaborate with architecture and project teams to ensure production readiness.
Contribute to design input, proof of concepts and testing during quieter periods.
Support cloud asset security, patching and vulnerability remediation.
Assist with backup and data protection testing and resilience exercises.
Maintain infrastructure as code in Terraform; automate tasks with Python/Bash/PowerShell; use AI tools where helpful.
Manage accounts, RBAC and policy compliance; monitor cloud spend and optimize.
Support migration of on-prem services to cloud; provide wide team coaching.
Produce and update documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.
Serve as escalation point to cloud vendor support; participate in on-call rota.
