Job summary

SD Guthrie International in Malaysia seeks an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native and hybrid Azure solutions, aligned with enterprise security and governance standards.

You will lead IaC with Terraform/Bicep/ARM, monitor operations, optimize costs, and advance AI enablement and platform reliability while collaborating with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, or engineering.
• Azure certifications are advantageous (various Azure roles).
• 5-10 years in cloud engineering, infra/platform/data roles.
• Hands-on with Azure governance, security, and cost management.
• Experience with automation, scripting, and DevOps.
• Experience with SAP cloud environments is a plus.
• Exposure to AI-enabled platforms and cloud AI services is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native and hybrid Azure solutions.

Job Description:

Cloud Solution Implementation & Deployment

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain cloud-native and hybrid solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and manage Azure services in accordance with enterprise architecture and security standards.
• Implement cloud platforms, integrations, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop deployment runbooks, technical documentation, and release management procedures.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or similar technologies.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and production ready.

B) Cloud Operations & Platform Reliability

• Monitor and maintain Azure environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, dashboards, and operational runbooks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud infrastructure, applications, integrations, and data platforms.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Improve platform reliability, availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency.

C) Cloud Governance, FinOps & Cost Management

• Implement and enforce Azure governance controls, policies, and standards.
• Manage resource tagging, subscription structure, access controls, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor and manage cloud spending through budgets, alerts, optimization initiatives, and cost allocation practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud cost efficiency and utilization.
• Support governance compliance reviews and remediation activities.

D) Security & Compliance

• Implement cloud security controls including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Key Vault, encryption, network security, and secrets management.
• Support Microsoft Defender for Cloud implementation and monitoring.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities.
• Work closely with Cyber Security teams to strengthen cloud security posture.

E) AI Enablement & Innovation

• Support deployment and governance of AI-enabled solutions on Azure.
• Configure cloud environments for AI proof-of-concepts and pilot initiatives.
• Support AI service integrations within enterprise platforms and applications.
• Monitor usage, cost, security, and governance controls for AI solutions.
• Evaluate emerging cloud and AI technologies that improve business outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Build and support proof-of-concepts for new cloud and AI capabilities.

F) Collaboration & Engineering Excellence

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions.
• Contribute to technical standards, documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to project teams.
• Promote automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across cloud environments.

G) Continuous Operational Support

• Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support Group Digital's evolving operational, governance, and business needs.

Education / Professional Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are an advantage, such as:
• Azure Administrator Associate
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Azure DevOps Engineer Expert

Professional Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, data engineering, or related technology roles.
• Proven hands-on experience implementing and operating Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Experience supporting cloud operations, monitoring, incident management, and production environments.
• Experience implementing governance, security, and cloud cost management practices.
• Experience with automation, scripting, and DevOps methodologies.
• Exposure to SAP systems, integrations, or cloud-hosted SAP environments is an advantage.
• Exposure to AI-enabled platforms and cloud-based AI services is an advantage.
