Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and optimize cloud-based data pipelines using Snowflake and Microsoft Azure. You will shape data models, governance and data products for analytics, AI, and GenAI applications, while leading design reviews and ensuring secure, scalable delivery across markets.

You will mentor peers, collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive CI/CD practices to maintain high reliability and data quality in a complex, multi-market environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level education or equivalent experience in a data engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud data solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Azure platforms.
• Experience with SQL, ETL/ELT, APIs and data modelling for enterprise use.
• Experience across multi-market environments and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise scalable cloud-based data ingestion, transformation, harmonisation and serving pipelines.
• Design and manage cloud data solutions using Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Azure data services and Databricks.
• Develop reusable, well-documented data products for business use.
• Define data models, interfaces, metadata, lineage and retention controls.
• Lead technical design, code reviews, testing and release quality for complex data initiatives.
• Support analytics, automation and AI use cases across multiple markets.
• Own the technical health, availability and performance of cloud data services.
• Implement monitoring, data quality rules, anomaly detection and root-cause management.
• Apply DataOps, DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Optimise Snowflake workloads, cloud capacity, storage and compute.
• Ensure security, privacy, architecture and data governance compliance.
• Implement RBAC, audit logging and controlled release practices.
• Establish data quality rules, ownership and governance with stakeholders.
