Cloud Administrator and Support for Cloud Infra, Servers, Operating System, Storage & Backup
Minimum Qualification — AWS: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator and/or Associate; or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer and/or Professional; or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (as a foundational certification)
Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant experience in any Cloud related services
Roles and Responsibilities
- To cover cloud infra, servers, operating system, storage and backup including the following responsibilities:
Cloud Compute and Hosting Setup
- (a) EC2 Instance Deployment
- Host databases, applications, and other workloads on Windows and Linux EC2 instances.
- Utilize both private and public subnets for deployment.
- (b) Service Installation and Configuration:
- Install services like Structured Query Language (MySQL) and Apache. MySQL is software that helps applications store and organize data in a structured way, making it easy to query and update.
- Configure services for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates from a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).
- (c) Domain Join Functionality:
- Ensure EC2 instances can join domains seamlessly.
- (d) Access Control and Single Sign-On (SSO):
- Enable Single Sign-On for AWS resources.
- Integrate with Active Directory (AD) credentials for centralized access management.
Public Cloud Network Configuration
- (a) Identity and Access Management (IAM) Role-Based Access Control (RBAC):
- (b) Configure IAM users, groups, and policies for secure, role-based access control.
- (c) Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for improved security.
- (d) Create and assign custom IAM permissions and delegate administrative control as needed.
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Setup
- (a) Design and configure a VPC with:
- Private and public subnets.
- Route tables and multi-availability zone (AZ) architecture for high availability.
- (b) Set up network security components:
- Internet Gateway (IGW) for external access.
- Network Access Control Lists (NACLs) and Security Groups (SGs) for traffic filtering.
- Network Address Translation (NAT) for secure internet access from private subnets.
- (c) Secure Site-to-Site Virtual Private Network (VPN) Connection and establish a Site-to-Site VPN covering:
- AWS Transit Gateway, Virtual Gateway, VPN Tunnel, and Customer Gateway.
- Test and validate connectivity between the on-premises environment and the AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to ensure secure and reliable communication.
Backup and Recovery
- (a) Configure AWS backup for scheduled backups of critical resources which include, EC2 instances, Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes).
- (b) Conduct backup restoration exercises to verify backup integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Common Services and Tools Setup and Configuration
- (a) Configure and manage essential cloud services, including:
- DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and network infrastructure services.
- Perform reliability, security, and scalability testing.
- (b) Implement a vulnerability management process with regular security scans and compliance with security policies.
Environment Setup and Testing
- (a) Set up separate cloud environments for Production Environment and Non-Production Environment use.
- (b) Test and configure networks, provision VMs, storage, and deploy Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) resources.
- (c) Verify secure access control, ensuring environments are accessible only by authorized users.
Disaster Recovery (DR)
- (a) Participate in annual and/or ad-hoc DR exercises to test preparedness, failover, and data restoration processes
