Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Project Engineer on a contractual basis to manage CAPEX projects in our chocolate and confectionery plant in Malaysia. The role covers equipment upgrades, line expansions, utility installations, and process optimization.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of project engineering experience in food manufacturing, with direct exposure to confectionery or chocolate processing lines, and is familiar with GMP/HACCP and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering, Process/Chemical Engineering, or Food Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of proven project engineering experience in food manufacturing, confectionery or chocolate processing lines.
• Strong understanding of chocolate/confectionery processing (tempering curves, crystal structure stability, moisture control).
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Hands-on familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD) and project tools (MS Project).
• Knowledge of PLC automation systems (Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley) used in automated packaging and process lines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute plant CAPEX projects from initiation through commissioning and handover.
• Monitor timelines, progress, and financial budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Prepare clear technical specifications, scope of work, and tender documentation for contractors and equipment vendors.
• Manage the installation, integration, and continuous improvement of chocolate processing machinery.
• Oversee critical utility systems relevant to chocolate production, such as chilled water loops, dehumidification units, steam boilers, and compressed air systems.
