Jora Malaysia is seeking an accomplished CEO/Managing Director to define and drive the organization's long-term vision, mission, and strategic priorities. You will spearhead sustainable growth across education markets, explore partnerships, and translate strategy into measurable outcomes.

Leading a high-performance team, you will oversee revenue growth, KPIs, governance, and risk management, while ensuring regulatory compliance and educational excellence in a dynamic, evolving sector.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Vision
  • Define and execute the organization's long-term vision, mission, and strategic priorities.

  • Develop sustainable growth strategies across existing and new education markets.

  • Identify emerging opportunities in education, technology, learning models, and partnerships.

  • Translate the organization's vision into clear business objectives and measurable outcomes.

  • Ensure the organization remains competitive, innovative, and responsive to changes in the education sector.

2. Business Growth & Commercial Performance
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and overall organizational performance.

  • Develop and implement effective business development and market expansion strategies.

  • Build new revenue streams, products, programs, and services where appropriate.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer needs, and industry developments.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization.

3. Educational Excellence
  • Champion high standards of teaching, learning, student experience, and educational outcomes.

  • Ensure programs and services meet relevant regulatory, accreditation, and quality requirements.

  • Promote innovation in curriculum, pedagogy, technology, and learner engagement.

  • Work closely with academic and operational leaders to continuously improve educational quality.

4. Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing executive and management team.

  • Build a culture based on accountability, collaboration, innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish clear organizational structures, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

  • Develop leadership succession and talent strategies.

  • Promote employee engagement and retention.

5. Financial Management
  • Take overall responsibility for the organization's financial health and sustainability.

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure appropriate cost management and operational efficiency.

  • Work with the finance team and Board to establish financial targets and monitor performance.

  • Ensure appropriate financial controls, governance, and risk management.

6. Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, educators, investors, government agencies, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with educational institutions, corporations, technology providers, and other organizations.

  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and public engagements.

  • Act as the primary ambassador and spokesperson for the organization when required.

7. Governance, Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure compliance with applicable education regulations, laws, policies, and accreditation requirements.

  • Maintain strong corporate governance and ethical standards.

  • Identify and manage strategic, operational, financial, reputational, and regulatory risks.

  • Provide transparent and timely reporting to the Board of Directors or shareholders.

8. Technology & Innovation
  • Identify and implement technologies that improve educational delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Evaluate opportunities involving AI, digital learning, data analytics, learning platforms, and other emerging technologies.

  • Encourage a culture of innovation while maintaining appropriate standards for quality, privacy, security, and responsible technology use.

Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Management, or a related field.

  • A Master's degree, MBA, or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.

Experience
  • Significant senior leadership experience, preferably at CEO, Managing Director, COO, Director, or equivalent level.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling an education organization, school group, edtech company, training business, higher education institution, or related organization.

  • Strong track record of achieving business growth and organizational transformation.

  • Experience managing budgets, P&L, strategic planning, and organizational performance.

  • Experience building high-performing leadership teams.

  • Strong understanding of the education sector and its regulatory and commercial environment.
