Job summary

Orchid Development, a division of the Flowers Group, seeks a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering and Facilities Department across Cricket Square and associated properties in Penang.

You will oversee MEPF systems, capital projects, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and budget management, driving efficiency and reliability.

The role requires 10–15 years in engineering/facilities management, with 5–7 years in senior leadership, and strong BAS/BMS and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive engineering and facilities management experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years as Chief Engineer or in a senior management/leadership role.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, landscaping, and building systems.
• Experience managing large operating and capital budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Engineering and Facilities Department.
• Develop departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate engineering and maintenance personnel.
• Establish performance standards and accountability measures for all team members.
• Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Manage workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.
• Lead construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
