Job summary

Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort in Malaysia invites an experienced Chef de Cuisine – Restaurant to lead the Chinese kitchen, ensuring authentic execution of dishes and adherence to Hyatt's brand standards.

The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in Chinese cuisine, strong leadership and team development, and a track record in luxury hotel environments, with good culinary hygiene and safety practices. You will collaborate with hotel management to deliver memorable dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in luxury hotel/large restaurant.
• Proven expertise in Chinese cuisine with traditional techniques and presentation.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene and occupational health and safety standards.
• Basic computer skills in MS Office and recipe maintenance systems.

As Chef de Cuisine – Restaurant, you will be responsible for assisting with the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's corporate strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest, and owner expectations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ work experience as Sous Chef or 3–4 years as Chef de Partie in a hotel or large restaurant with good standards; preferably with experience in a luxury international brand.


• Proven expertise in Chinese cuisine, with strong knowledge of traditional techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.


• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.


• Basic computer skills in MS Office and Recipe Maintenance Systems are preferred.


• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.


• Due to regulatory requirements set by the Immigration and Manpower Department, this position is open to individuals who meet local employment eligibility criteria.
