Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast seeks a Chargeman to join our Engineering Department in Malaysia. You will ensure safe operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, maintaining compliance with local regulations and hotel safety procedures.

Key duties include monitoring HV/LV systems, conducting inspections, coordinating with departments, supervising contractors, and maintaining logs. Requires a Chargeman certificate and 3–5 years’ electrical maintenance experience in hospitality.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Valid Chargeman Certificate (AO/A1/A4/BO/B4) issued by the Energy Commission.
• 3–5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain electrical installations and distribution systems in the hotel.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with departments for scheduled shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Supervise contractors and ensure safety standards and compliance is met.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and reports.
