Zohorecruit seeks a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy, governance, and performance for a project-driven construction environment in Kuala Lumpur.

The CFO will partner with the CEO and senior leadership to drive sustainable growth, strengthen controls, and ensure robust reporting under Malaysian standards. This role demands deep construction financial expertise and strong leadership across finance functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industries.
  • Proven experience managing project accounting and cost management in large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in treasury, project financing, and banking relationships is highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with senior leadership and board stakeholders.

Responsabilités

  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support major business decisions, investments, and expansion initiatives.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes across the organisation.

  • Oversee financial management of construction projects including project budgeting, cash flow forecasting, cost tracking, and margin analysis.

  • Manage company cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements for large-scale projects.
  • Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and financing arrangements including project financing where applicable.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity and financial stability to support ongoing operations and project commitments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial strategy, governance, and performance of the company. The role oversees financial planning, project finance management, treasury, risk management, and compliance while supporting business growth and operational efficiency in a project-driven construction environment.

The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive sustainable growth, strengthen financial discipline across projects, and ensure robust financial controls across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support major business decisions, investments, and expansion initiatives.
