About the role Nanthishaa Cash & Carry is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Cashier cum Sales Assistant to join our team at our Ulu Tiram Johor location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining smooth retail operations. As a Cashier cum Sales Assistant, you will be the face of our business, ensuring every customer interaction is positive and efficient whilst supporting the broader retail operations of our cash and carry establishment.

Key responsibilities

Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions

Handling cash, card payments and other payment methods with precision and maintaining accurate till reconciliation at the end of each shift

Providing knowledgeable product assistance to customers and making recommendations based on their needs

Restocking shelves and displays with products whilst maintaining organised and visually appealing store layouts

Assisting customers with locating products throughout the store and answering product-related enquiries

Maintaining a clean and hygienic checkout area and sales floor in accordance with company standards

Processing returns and exchanges in line with store policies and procedures

Supporting inventory management by flagging low stock items and assisting with stock counts when required

Delivering exceptional customer service and handling customer complaints professionally and courteously

Following all health, safety and company policies to ensure a safe working environment

What we're looking for

Previous retail or cashier experience is preferred, though training will be provided to suitable candidates

Strong numerical skills and accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Basic product knowledge or willingness to learn about our product range quickly

Good communication skills in English and/or Malay

Reliability and punctuality with the flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends if required

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Honesty, integrity and a professional attitude towards work
