JOY HI MART RAZAK CITY in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated Cashier for a full-time, on-site role. You will handle cash, card and other payments while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at the point of sale.

You will greet customers, answer queries, scan and bag items, and maintain an organized checkout area. The position requires attention to detail, reliability, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Cashier to join the team at JOY HI MART RAZAK CITY. This is a full-time position based in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth transactions at our retail point of sale. You will be the final point of contact for our customers, making a significant impact on their shopping experience and the overall reputation of our store.

What you'll be doing

Operating the cash register accurately and efficiently, processing customer payments via cash, card, and other payment methods

Providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering queries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally

Scanning and bagging items with care, ensuring customers' purchases are handled properly

Maintaining accurate cash floats and reconciling till balances at the end of each shift

Monitoring and preventing stock shrinkage through vigilance and adherence to security procedures

Keeping the checkout area clean, organised and well-stocked with necessary supplies

Assisting with promotional activities and communicating special offers to customers

Supporting other team members when required and contributing to a positive store environment

Complying with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations

What we’re looking for

Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing retail role

Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle cash accurately

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable manner

The ability to remain calm and patient when dealing with high volumes of customers

Attention to detail and reliability in managing transactions and record-keeping

Basic proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and retail technology

A strong work ethic and commitment to providing outstanding customer service

Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required

Malaysian citizenship or valid work permit

Ideally, the candidate should be fluent in Chinese and English, or other local languages commonly used in Kuala Lumpur.
