Job summary

SYARIKAT SUPREME INTERIORS SDN. BHD. invites applications for a Carpenter Assistant (Cabinetry & Carpentry Team). Join our workshop and live site projects to learn practical cabinetry skills while supporting fabrications and installations.

Basic carpentry experience is welcome but not required; fresh candidates who are willing to learn will be trained. You will handle tools, follow drawings, and work as part of a team in a hands-on environment in Kuching, Sarawak.

Qualifications

• Carpentry, cabinetry, furniture-making, or renovation experience is an advantage but not compulsory.
• Fresh/inexperienced candidates who are genuinely interested in learning carpentry are welcome.
• Willing to learn and develop practical cabinetry and carpentry skills.
• Able to perform hands-on and physically demanding work.
• Able to follow measurements, instructions, and work procedures carefully.
• Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and able to work as part of a team.
• Basic Bahasa Malaysia communication is required; other languages are an advantage.
• Experience using hand tools or power tools is an advantage.
• Willing to work in both workshop and project-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist carpenters with the fabrication, assembly, and installation of cabinets, built-in furniture, and other carpentry works.
• Assist with measuring, marking, cutting, drilling, sanding, edging, assembling, and finishing works under instruction.
• Prepare boards, materials, hardware, tools, and accessories required for production and installation.
• Assist with handling materials such as blockboard, plywood, laminated panels, timber, and other cabinetry materials.
• Assist with installation of cabinet doors, shelves, drawers, hinges, runners, handles, and other hardware.
• Support workshop production and on-site cabinetry installation works.
• Load, unload, move, and arrange cabinetry components, tools, and materials.
• Learn to use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment correctly and safely.
• Check materials and completed components for obvious damage or defects and report issues to the carpenter or supervisor.
• Follow drawings, measurements, instructions, and production requirements provided by the carpenter or supervisor.

Carpenter Assistant (Cabinetry & Carpentry Team)

This position is suitable for candidates who are interested in learning practical carpentry and cabinetry skills through hands-on workshop and site experience. Candidates with basic carpentry experience are preferred, but those without experience who are hardworking and willing to learn are also encouraged to apply.
