Job summary

Tong Kee Food Corporation in Malaysia is seeking bakers to prepare ingredients for breads, cakes and Chinese pastries, and to bake at correct temperatures for quality. You will shape, decorate and check product consistency, operate baking equipment, and maintain clean, safe workstations.

Teamwork is essential; juniors follow recipes while seniors may assist in training and supervise production. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Basic baking knowledge for Junior Bakers; advanced skills for Senior Bakers.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for making bread, cakes, and pastries.
• Bake products at the correct temperature and duration to ensure quality.
• Shape and decorate baked goods according to company standards.
• Check texture, flavor and appearance for consistency.
• Safely operate all baking equipment and tools.
• Clean workstations, baking trays and utensils after use.
• Organize and clean freezers and chillers to maintain storage conditions.
• Check ingredient expiry dates and rotate stock appropriately.
• Ensure switches and equipment are turned off at the end of the shift.
• Work closely with other bakers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth production.
• Assist in training junior staff (for Senior Bakers).
• Report issues with ingredients, equipment, or production to supervisors.

Organize and clean freezers and chillers to maintain proper storage conditions.

Check ingredient expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation.

Ensure all switches and equipment are properly turned off at the end of the shift.

C. Teamwork & Communication

Work closely with other bakers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth production.

Follow instructions from supervisors and assist in training junior staff (for Senior Bakers).

Report any issues with ingredients, equipment, or production to the Leader/Team Leader.

Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment.

Requirement:
