Job summary

Jacobs in Malaysia is seeking a Cable Engineer to contribute to high-voltage transmission projects across ASEAN, including Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver cable systems, support calculations, and develop technical specifications from concept to implementation.

The role offers exposure to regional standards, CYMCAP-based analyses, and AutoCAD/MicroStation/OpenRoads tooling, with a focus on building specialist expertise in

Qualifications

• Understanding of EHV cable systems and large-scale interconnectors.
• Experience with CYMCAP for cable rating and thermal analysis.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Knowledge of substations (GIS/AIS) and related electrical infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

• An understanding of Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable systems, transmission networks, power systems, substations (GIS and AIS), and large-scale power interconnector projects.
• Experience using CYMCAP for cable rating and thermal analysis.
• Familiarity with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads.
• An appreciation of the civil and structural considerations associated with underground and overhead cable infrastructure projects.
